Title 1 Letter

Rodney B. Cox Elementary School:

TITLE ONE LETTER

Dear Wildcat Families,

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! We are excited to partner with you to make this year your student's best one
yet! As you may know, our school is a Title I school, and as such, we receive federal funding to supplement existing
programs that help all students succeed and achieve.

As a Title I school, we also recognize the value of working with you as a parent or guardian. Enclosed in this letter, you
will find a copy of our Parent Engagement Plan. This plan communicates our commitment to partnering with families
and outlines how we intend to work with you throughout the school year. You can also find copies of this plan and the
districtwide plan on our website: www.pasco.k12.fl.us. These documents, along with the School Success Plan and the
Comprehensive Needs Assessment, are available at school. If you would like to review them, please ask the front office
staff for the family/community binder.

Also enclosed is our School-Family Compact. This compact is an agreement between the school, parents, and students
to ensure each child reaches their highest academic potential. Please sign and return it to the school.

As a parent of a student at a Title I school, you also have specific rights. You have the right to know the professional
qualifications of the educators who instruct your child. Federal law allows you to obtain certain information about your
child’s classroom teachers and instructional assistants/paraprofessionals in a timely manner. You have the right to ask
for the following details about your child’s educators:

1. The teacher’s Florida certification area(s),
o Whether the teacher is teaching in-field
o Whether the teacher is qualified in-field according to Pasco County Schools
2. The teacher’s college degree(s) and areas of study
3. The teacher’s advanced college degree(s) and areas of study
4. The qualifications of any instructional assistant/paraprofessionals who provide services to your child

Additionally, you have the right to be informed about your student’s level of achievement on assessments such as the
FAST (Florida Assessment of Student Thinking) for reading/language arts, mathematics, and science. This information will be available at your child’s school.

If you would like to receive any of this information, please send a written request to your child’s school. At our annual
Open House and Title I Meeting on September 24, 2025, we will share ways we can collaborate to support your child’s
success. If you would like additional information, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

We look forward to a great school year ahead!

Sincerely,

Wendy Lane
